The Bowenian Pledge

The Bowenian Pledge serves to complement R-E-A-D-Y BE! - to encourage all Bowenians to adopt the learning dispositions and practice them in their daily behaviour and engagement with others, such as being Responsible and Respectful and being Disciplined.

The values and learning dispositions in Our Bowenian Pledge will shape how Bowenians learn, behave, and grow.

The Bowenian Pledge

As a Bowenian, I commit to embodying the spirit of R-E-A-D-Y BE as I embark on my learning journey for the year.

I pledge to:

• Be Responsible and Respectful – I will be accountable for my actions and decisions, showing respect and care for others and the school environment. By doing so, I contribute to Bowenians’ safety, well-being and holistic growth.

• Stay Engaged – I will actively participate in all learning experiences, demonstrating curiosity and a passion for discovery.

• Be Adaptable and Mentally Agile – I will embrace change and new situations with flexibility and an open mind, striving to learn and grow continuously.

• Practice Discipline – I will stay focused and manage my time and effort effectively to achieve my goals. I will adhere to school rules in all that I do, understanding that discipline is key to success.

• Be a Learner, Leader, and Champion – I will employ my talents and abilities to bring positive change, and lead by example, champion kindness, and serve with heart.

I will also uphold the aim of assessments and the school rules, by not directly or indirectly sharing information about an assessment and its contents before, during or after the assessment. By doing so, I keep assessments honest and fair, and allow others to learn with integrity.

At the start of every lesson, I will practise

• Attendance – Be punctual for lessons.

• Cleanliness – Ensure my classroom is clean and orderly.

• Engage – Have my learning materials ready and eliminate distractions.

I commit to being a Passionate Learner, a Servant Leader, and a Champion of Good.

I will make the most of my Bowen experience by cultivating good habits for success and fostering a culture of care, integrity, respect, and responsibility.
