School Fees
The Ministry of Education (MOE) will be increasing school fees for Singapore permanent residents (PR) and international students (IS) in Government and Government-Aided schools over the next three years (i.e. 2024 – 2026).

Bowen Secondary School (BWSS) is a government school. As such the monthly fees in Bowen for Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents or international students are shown in the table below:

- For IS (ASEAN) and IS (Non-ASEAN), school fees are inclusive of GST.
- For IS, there will be a 9% GST imposed on the miscellaneous fees.

Payment Mode for School Fees
Parents can choose to pay the monthly school fees by the various methods:

eGIRO
Parents who are account holders from the following banks can sign up for the GIRO scheme with MOE through eGIRO. - Bank of China (BOC)
- DBS Bank or POSB
- Maybank
- Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited (OCBC)
- Standard Chartered Bank (SCB)
- Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited(HSBC)
- United Overseas Bank (UOB)

GIRO
To sign up for GIRO using other bank accounts, please complete the GIRO application form and submit to the school General Office. -
SGQR
Upon receiving the bill from MOE / School, the parent can pay using the SGQR code presented on the bill itself, by following the instructions as given below. - Launch your preferred payment app from those shown in the bill.
- Scan the SGQR.
- Check that you are paying to ‘Ministry of Education’.

SingPost Payment Channels
Parents can also pay through any of the SingPost payment channels as follows: -

Download the SingPost Mobile App from App Store or Google Play. Create an account using your mobile number. - SingPost SAM Web
a. Visit https://www.mysam.sg. b. Create and log in to your SAM account. c. Follow the onscreen instructions.
- SingPost SAM Kiosks
a. Locate your nearest SAM kiosk at https://www.singpost.com/locate-us. b. At the kiosk, Select ‘Payments’. c. Select ‘Ministry of Education’ under Education. d. Select ‘Student Bill’. e. Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Cash or cheque at school General Office
Payment can be made in cash or by cheque at the school General Office from Mon to Thu, from 8am to 4pm. Cheque payment should be made payable to ‘Ministry of Education’.
Payment Timeline
GIRO deductions are made on the 26th of every month from February to December. If the 26th is a weekend or public holiday, the deduction will happen on the next working day. Check for the exact deduction dates on our calendar by filtering for “GIRO deductions”.
There is no deduction in January as the fees for January and February are combined into one bill for deduction in February.
There will still be deductions in November and December as the fees payable are calculated on an annual basis and spread out over a period of 12 months, including school holidays.
Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS)
Students who require financial support for school fees, textbooks, uniforms or meals are strongly encouraged to apply for support through
- MOE financial assistance schemes (FAS) or
- school-based financial assistance schemes (FAS).
To be eligible for FAS, the student should be a Singapore Citizen and meet the following criteria:

2024 FAS Application Form
FAS Application Procedures
Parents are to apply for MOE FAS by completing the FAS application form on hardcopy (available at the General Office) or online using the e-FAS form which is available on Parents Gateway (under ‘Services’ tab – Financial Assistance) or through the e-FAS link/ QR code below, via Singpass login.
Parents can also visit MOE website at for the FAS FAQs and the Income Family Micro-Insurance Scheme (IFMIS), a free insurance scheme provided to MOE FAS recipients by NTUC Income.

Student Lockers
Since the launch of the students’ personal learning device, the school has provided all students with a locker to safe-keep their personal learning device and valuables in school.
The lockers are strategically placed outside their respective classrooms and are allocated based on the students class index numbers. The lockers are equipped with a combination lock and students may preset their personal pin for the duration of use. Students may use their assigned lockers for the current academic year and the will be reassigned on the last day of school.
