About Bowen Girl Guides

girlguides-2.jpg
Bowen Girl Guides provides an education in life skills which encourages each girl to be a responsible citizen and to lead a useful life. The activities carried out are part of the 5 Point Programme which includes activities like volunteering in welfare organisations, outdoor cooking and camping. GG members can look forward to attaining skills and knowledge badges like SANA (Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association), Crime Prevention, Civil Defence, Total Defence, Cook’s Badge, Artist, Footdrill, Thrift, Health Trooper Badge and many more.

In the Girl Guides, we are committed to the development of our girls into confident leaders. Guides will be given the opportunity to develop their potential as leaders through various leadership courses organised by Girl Guides Headquarters. In November 2017, Bowen Girl Guides sent our leaders to the International Camp conducted by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, exposing our girls to various outdoor activities to hone their leadership skills.

Our Bowen Girl Guides also represented the Girl Guides Contingent in the prestigious National Day Parade 2017. Bowen Girl Guides believes in giving back to the society. Guides organised our termly visits to Sree Narayana Mission Home and also assisted Girl Guides Headquarters in fundraising through the selling of Girl Guides cookies annually.   Bowen Girl Guides have participated in various competitions such as the World Thinking Day Competition & North Division Outdoor Challenge. We were recognised as a Gold unit by Girl Guides Singapore in 2016 and 2017 and Silver in 2015 and 2014.
