Learning with Technology

In Bowen, there are a range of shared devices (Tablets and Laptops) for students to use for their learning and research purposes in the school library and computer labs. Students can also login to the MOE School-wide-Wireless Network (SWN) to access the Internet. Students are expected to Responsibly Use the school wired/wireless network for research and learning purposes only.

Code For Fun Enrichment Programme

In Bowen, we believe in the importance of developing computational thinking and problem-solving skills among our students. In 2017, our Bowen Secondary 1 students started to learn to code through the Code for Fun Enrichment Programme supported jointly by IMDA and MOE. This is also part of our school’s efforts to support Singapore’s Smart Nation initiative. The Code for Fun Enrichment Programme hopes to achieve the above by coaching students on how to use and code different electronic components including the Micro:bit to solve real-life problems.

By applying their computational and design thinking skills to develop various prototypes, this programme not only helps students realise that they have the ability to create realistic solutions but also inspire them to be innovators and inventors.
